How many times walking down the resident hallways have we observed the names of the resident on the wall beside their door? Some are green and some are written in black. Does everyone know why?
It is very important to understand the meaning behind the different colored names. Many residents that live at Peabody have a Do Not Resuscitate order or DNR. This means that no life support such as CPR be started. Their name is listed outside their residence in BLACK.
Other residents have their name in GREEN on their door. Residents with their name in GREEN means they WANT TO BE RESUSCITATED OR CPR.
The easiest way to obtain this information in an emergency is took look on the wall at their name outside their door.
This is important for all staff in all departments to know as anyone could come upon a resident down, unconscious without pulse and not breathing.
ALWAYS NOTIFY THE NURSE WHEN A RESIDENT IS FOUND DOWN REGARDLESS IF THEIR NAME IS IN GREEN OR BLACK.
Many of you may have heard or seen "EI" written or talked about...EI stands for Extraordinary Impressions the hospitality initiative designed by LCS.
Peabody has adopted the EI standards and has begun to train all employees. Trainings are offered monthly and held in the Enrichment Center. Your supervisors are scheduling all employees into a date and time, if you haven't already attended the training.
